The Smith-Hubbell Wildlife Refuge and Sanctuary is an 8-acre parcel of preserve land associated with The Coastal Center at Milford Point, a center for ecological education owned and operated by the Connecticut Audubon Society.
The refuge is located at 1 Milford Point Road in Milford, Connecticut and it is "open daily, year-round, from dawn to dusk".
Rare and Unusual Plants
The Smith-Hubbell Wildlife Refuge is confirmed to have healthy colonies of Prickly Pear Cactus, Connecticut's only native species of cactus.
