The Pond Meadow Natural Area is a 42-acre parcel of conservation land owned by the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust (KLCT). The KLCT originally purchased the property in January 2001 and, at that time, it was composed of only about 19 acres. Prior to being acquired by the KLCT, the land was used a cranberry bog. Although much of the Pond Meadow Natural Area is now managed to protect delicate habitat for plants and animals, some portions are still used to produce cranberries.

Rare and Unusual Plant Life[edit]

The KLCT has confirmed that the carnivorous Purple Pitcher Plant can found at the Pond Meadow Natural Area.
